The Door of Life

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door

Time Travel

Have you ever recognized that why sometimes you feel like time passes very fast but sometimes it passes so slowly? Does it mean time passes unpunctually? If we measure time by our feeling toward time, it is psychological time but if we measure time by a clock, it is a kind of physical time. Time is measured by each person perception and awareness of time. Time can be different in one’s mind and perspective. Some people may view time as only measured by a clock but others may view time as the experiences and events that come to their lives and those experiences and events will become the past only.
If you would travel into time, where would you go, the past or the future? Why? There is always a motivation behind when someone wants to have a time machine and travel backwards or forwards into time. Obviously, there are main motivations for travelling through time.

The idea of escapism, being unable to accept the truth and reality in life, we want to travel through time in order to escape from the reality of our present time. That why a time machine is imagined as a tool to transport people to travel into time to help get away from a discontented condition in the present.

The motive of undoing past, of course, motivates people to travel back to the past. Sometimes, we may want to undo things, or to be given a second chance to go back to the unforgettable time to change it. Such a wish still remains in everyone’s imagination as life is not perfect. It would be good if we had a second chance to revise our own mess and mistake.

If you choose to travel back into the past, in terms of psychology, according to Sigmund Freud, you are the kind of dominating past person! Why some people or even you like to talk about your past even it passed about 5 or more years ago? Dominating past persons may have some unsatisfied and difficult things in the present that you want to run away from them. Or else your past is more pleasant than the present.
It is good sometimes to recall about your past memories and have such a daydream and imagine ourselves in the future. Thus, the idea of traveling into time both in the past and future reflects the state of a human’s mind and the many reasons why they want to travel back into the past or travel into the future.
However, there is no time machine and time travelling is possible only in terms of theory but it has been discussed about its possibility in the practical term.If we are obsessed too much with the past event, we may become ill and cannot continue our life in the present time. We should live in the present, forget the past and do the best in our present time are the best thing to live with the reality world.

Never Believe !
By Sirikanlaya Sakhet/520132043
Every times, when I perceive something, I would realize that what the truth is. Out of my windows I should see the life which is contained with love, hate, beautiful, good, bad, houses, cars, building and so on….
Are these real? : Sometimes we feel that’s love, sometimes we see that’s beauty.
Warning: “Don’t believe in anything”, I think that now a day we were framed to believe in whatever the senders or others try to message to lure us. Therefore I would show you the example pictures to bring you to your senses which these pictures will demonstrate visual phenomena, and optical – the visual illusions and you will know that most effects have their basis in the visual pathway, not in the optics of the eyes. Don’t distress yourself if you don’t see the effect described, even if trying carefully. For many illusions, there are a small percentage of people with perfectly normal vision who just don’t see it, for reasons currently unknown.
Hopefully, you may be glad to know: There are no tasteless surprises, these infantile pranks where you scrutinize a picture and these phenomena are really understood; any nice and thoughtful comment welcome, then try it!

"Forever Always" by Octavio Ocampo©

Gotcha! After seeing the pictures, I’m glad to share and expand more explanation about what are "illusions"? Illusions trick us into perceiving something differently than it actually exists, so what we see does not correspond to physical reality. Hence, the word illusion comes from the Latin verb illudere meaning, " to mock." In addition, some illusions show us one thing in a picture, while someone else sees something entirely different in the same picture.

Warning (again): you and also the research scientists must be sure that the result of your works are not "illusory" in nature and need to accurately report what "is", rather than their general "impression" of "what is". So many times people will repeat an experiment or testing many times, or in different laboratories, to ensure that their results were valid.

Pictures hints:
1. You would see the picture of a lady or may be the old man.
2. This picture shows an old couple - see profiles of faces - is remembering the times when they were young and full of life - see the sitting characters.
3. This one is interesting. Children will probably see a group of playing dolphins. But adults see usually something else. It's called Message of Love from the Dolphins (by Sandro Del-Prete).
4. Sigmund Freud and what really on his mind is.

My new world!

I’m a person who loves dogs and cats so much. But 3 years ago, I hated dogs and cats so much. I was afraid of dogs. I thought dogs were not friendly and fierce. When I saw a dog, I must walk away as fast as I could. About cats, I was not afraid but I didn’t like them. I’ve never had any pet because my parents didn’t like cats and dogs.

But there was a big change in my life when I was 20 years old. One day, there was a cat came to my house. No one liked her because she was black and quite ugly. My father brought her to but she could come back to my house every time. My uncle would bring her to his office in Sa Moeng district. I sympathized her so much so I asked my parents to allow her stay with us. I said to my parents “I would not let her come into house, I would give her only dry cat food, took care of her by myself and I would not disturb parents. I was very excited because I have never played and fed any cats. She was so cute. When I called her name, Kitty , she must run to me.

I brought her to animal hospital near my house to take vaccinations and check up her health. She was sterilized. After that, she turned to be a stubborn cat. She bit me and clawed me very often. But I still loved her and let her sleep in my bed every night. I bought her expensive dry cat food, beautiful clothes and toys. I felt the love that I’ve never known before. I could say I love her as my life.

One day, I could remember it was Sunday in January. I had to go to my friend’s dorm to do some group work. I could remember that kitty wore yellow sweater because the weather was cold. She sat at the garage before I left home. I came home at noon and my parents told me they didn’t find Kitty for 3 hours after I went out. It was strange because every time she was called she must run to house. So, I decided to ride a bicycle around the village. I shouted but no answer from Kitty. I was very nervous and worried .I missed her a lot. Before I came back home, I saw something in the bush in front of my house. It was black. My heart beat so hard. I walked closer and closer. Yes, It was kitty. But…………………..She lied down, eyes were closed a lot of wounds in her body. I tried to lie myself she was still OK. She was tired and lied down. I couldn’t lie myself at all. She was dead. She was bitten by dog. I started to shout, cried and screamed. Everybody ran out and asked what happened. I said “Kitty was dead”

My mother , my aunt and my younger sister started to cried. I was very shocked. At that moment, I felt my heart was gone. I cried like a mad. I couldn’t touch her even I loved her so much. I didn’t want how hurt she was. I told my father to dig a hole and buried her. She was bitten at neck. Her ear was torn. Her leg was broken. I could not stop crying I said only buried her. I didn’t want to see her like this. That night I couldn’t sleep alone. I moved to my parent’s room for a half month. I cried for many days even if in classrooms. I couldn’t control myself.

Kitty made me realize that what love is? Who can tell the real definition of the word “love”? Some say love is sharing, forgiving and understanding. Some say love is sadness, horribleness and a nightmare. For me, love is an unexplainable thing. We know it by heart. There are many kinds of love in this world. It depends on our point of view. In some small space, there is the precious love we still look over. My heart was opened since I met her. I saw the world in the new point of view. I saw stray animals around me. I began to help them. Two years since my heart was gone, there’s a day I never think of her. Kitty never dies from me. She just takes a long sleep in the garden. She’s not my first pet but she is my first love… the love I’ve never knew it before.

Northern Thai Food!

Having read many stories from other friends’ blog, I think all of them are sooo good. A lot of things they talked…a lot of critical thinking... Now, it’s my turn. I want to write about something not so serious. So, today, as I am the one who LOVE to EAT, I am going to talk about “food”.

What I’m going to point out today is about “Northern Thai food”.
Northern Thai foods are originally created in the Northern part of Thailand. Some of them are influenced by the Burmeses who live in Thailand’s neighbor country. Because Northern Thai region is full of fruits and vegetables, fresh seasonal vegetables are the main ingredients for the receipts. (I like it! The good fresh ingredients can create good combinations which make the foods good for health!) The daily meal of this region usually include steamed glutinous rice with chili paste such as "Namprik Noom" or "Namprik Oong" and some chili soups such as Geang Care Khai (chicken & mixed vegetables with a northern spices) and Geang Kanoon (Young Jackfruit Curry).

These are some pictures of Northern Thai food from Google and Teenee.com…

Gaeng Care Gai - Chicken & mixed vegetables with a northern spices

Gaeng Khanoon - Young Jackfruit Curry

Hang Lay Curry = Northen Style beef/ pork curry

Larb, Jin Larb - Northern Ground Pork

Naam Prik Noom- Chillies Paste Dip

Do they look yummy? ^^

I also found a very interesting website about northern Thai food too. I’ll place it at the end of this blog for the one who want to get more information and see more yummy pictures!

Some of the Northern Thai food is not easy to cook. The foods have to be cooked delicately. Some even cause the cookers to go through many complex steps (all for the great delicious taste and less fishy.) For the ones who want to taste them, just follow what is said in the internet receipts is not enough to cook with the real taste of the Northern Thai.

Come to think of it…since there are some fast food and foreign foods which are more convenience, trendy and quick in our country at the moment…. since many modern people do not have much time to cook or even to teach their children to cook these local foods… now not many of the young adults and the new generations can cook Northern Thai foods (which need to take time to cook it). People who can cook this kind of food seem to be lesser and lesser. Well, at the present, many foreign countries are interested in our food but our local people care less and less about it. So, I am a bit worried. I start to wonder….what will happen if people all forget how to cook their own local food and start to search for the receipts in the internet? How funny it’ll be if in the future our local people have to learn to cook their local foods from foreigners? (Since foreigners love to know about our food more than ourselves)

What I want to say to the young northern Thai people is…come back and see what our local had! Northern Thai food shows Northern Thai Identity. Although now we can find some of the northern Thai foods in many places around the world, the real Northern Thai foods which cooked by Northern Thai people, putting in real Northern Thai ingredients are no where to be found except in our country, right? That’s why we should be proud of our food! ^^

BLACK METAL.. MY FAVOURITE KIND OF MUSIC

Have you ever heard of Black Metal? Well.. I guess some of you may be familiar with this kind of music but some of you may not. This kind of music is my favorite kind of music which brings lots of emotional feelings through me.

Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It often uses fast tempos, shrieked vocals, highly distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, blast beat drumming, and unconventional song structure.

Black metal has been met with great hostility from mainstream culture, mainly due to the misanthropic and anti-Christian standpoint of many artists. Moreover, a handful of musicians have been linked with church burnings, murder or National Socialism. For these reasons and others, black metal is often seen as an underground form of music.
For Instrumentation, Black metal guitarists usually favour high-pitched guitar tones and a great deal of distortion.Typically, the guitar is played with much use of fast tremolo picking. When writing music, guitarists often use scales, intervals and chord progressions that yield the most dissonant, fearful and ominous sounds. Guitar solos and low guitar tunings are rare in black metal.

The bass guitar is rarely used to perform stand-alone melodies. It is not uncommon for the bass guitar to be inaudible or to homophonically follow the bass lines of the electric guitar. Typically, drumming is fast-paced and uses double-bass and/or blast beat techniques; although basic drumming is not uncommon.

Black metal songs often stray from conventional song structure and often lack clear verse-chorus sections. Instead, many black metal songs contain lengthy and repetitive instrumental sections.
For vocal and lyrics, traditional black metal vocals take the form of high-pitched shrieks, screams and snarls. This is in stark contrast to the low-pitched growls of death metal. Most black metal singers are male, although there are a few notable exceptions.

The most common and founding lyrical theme is opposition to Christianity and other organized religions (called "Right-Hand Path" religions by some). As part of this, many artists write lyrics that could be seen to promote atheism, antitheism, paganism and Satanism. Other oft-explored themes are depression, nihilism, misanthropy and death. However, many modern black metal lyrics have begun to focus more on the seasons (particularly winter), nature, mythology, folklore, philosophy and fantasy.

Unlike artists of other genres, many black metal artists do not perform concerts. Bands that choose to perform concerts often make use of stage props and theatrics. Mayhem and Gorgoroth among other bands are noted for their controversial shows; which have featured impaled animal heads, mock crucifixions, medieval weaponry, and band members doused in animal blood.

Black metal artists often appear dressed in black with combat boots, bullet belts, spiked wristbands, and inverted crosses/inverted pentagrams to reinforce their anti-Christian or anti-religious stance. However, the most stand-out trait is their use of corpse paint – black and white makeup (sometimes mixed with real or fake blood), which is used to create a corpse-like appearance.

These are my favorite black metal bands.. enjoy!!
